FAQ
Just got into an accident. What do I do?
File an insurance claim and get the following information:
Insurance claim number.

What is your deductible? If it’s the other party’s fault, you will not have a deductible.

Do you have rental coverage? Ask for an Enterprise rental reservation number.

Is your car safe to drive home? If not, call us to get it towed safely to our shop.
I have an insurance claim number. What do I do?
Call your insurance adjuster for their next steps. You must follow their procedures in order for your insurance claim to navigate smoothly, because if not, it can delay the claim process.

Due to supply chain issues, the adjuster is likely to request for you upload photos or you may have to stop by their preferred shop for an estimate (just ensure to tell the shop you want an estimate only).

They will generate a Preliminary Estimate (aka visual estimate, it’s not a final estimate, we can submit a supplement once your car is at our shop), once you receive it, email it to us. This is the green light to get your repairs scheduled with us.
I am ready to schedule. What should I provide?
-
Insured or Claimant, is it your fault or the other party’s fault?
-
Do you have an Enterprise rental reservation number?
-
Insurance name
-
Insurance claim number
-
Year, Make, Model
-
Area of damage
-
Did insurance provide a preliminary estimate, if so please email it to us.
-
Is it safe to drive? Please email or text 503-281-1103 some photos of the damages so we can help determine if it’s safe to drive or we can tow (paid by insurance).
-
What time of the day is convenient for you to drop off for repairs? (M-F 8-5 closed noon - 1PM)
-
Please provide your first and last name, phone number, and email address?
-
How did you hear about us?

How long do the repairs take?
Due to supply chain issues, there are 2 variables before we can provide a repair ETA:

Once we tear down your car, inspect for internal damages, and submit a supplement to the insurance adjuster, we have to wait for their approval, which can take a few days or weeks.

Once the supplement is approved, we will order the parts from the part vendors; they will provide us an ETA, which we will provide to you.

Please note that parts can be on backordered due to supply chain issues.
What type of repairs do you do?
We specialize in auto collision repairs, except we do not work on grey market, classic cars, and certain cars that you cannot source parts.
What insurance do you work with?
We work with most insurance carriers. We can help file your claim and will help advocate for your repairs.
Do we provide an estimate over the phone/email?
It’s best to schedule an estimate appointment because there can be many variables to consider when seeing the car in person (depth of the damage, internal damage, type of paint, weatherization, etc.) so we want to provide the best estimate as possible.

Can we repair and/or paint the parts you provide?
No, we only source our parts from the factory. Due to liability concerns, we cannot work on parts that customers provide themselves.
Can we waive your deductible?
This is a very catching marketing concept from other body shops but ultimately you will pay for it someway, somehow. The truth is most body shops work with insurance companies that are already on a contract discounted rate and cannot take a deeper discount. You have to question no business will work for little or no profit. Most likely these body shops are poor business operators or just desperate. To be in the body shop business and to do it correctly is an investment in equipment, tools, technology, training, and infrastructure to repair your car to pre-loss condition and provide peace of mind warranty.

You should be very careful of any body shop that offers to waive you your deductible. They may be taking shortcuts in your repairs, which could depreciate the value of your car and/or repair it in an unsafe manner which can void your manufacturer’s warranty. The old saying “nothing is free,” that will likely apply if you go to a body shop that promise to waive your deductible.
Can we paint your entire car?
No, unfortunately we do not accept complete paint jobs.
What paint do we use?
Axalta, top of the line paint and material because we do not believe in jeopardizing quality and that's why we 100% guarantee our workmanship.
What parts will you use?
Insurance will choose the parts for your car. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact your insurance adjuster directly or review your auto policy.
Do you have to use the body shop recommended by your insurance?
No. Oregon law prohibits an insurer from requiring you to use a certain repair shop. It's your car and you pay your insurance premium so we recommend to carefully choose your repair shop, get referrals from people you trust, and check for complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Department of Justice.
Does the insurance have to use OEM parts vs. Aftermarket?
Actually no, but it also depends on your insurance policy. Insurance companies can opt for aftermarket or recycled parts instead, as a way to help keep your premium costs down. For your protection, Oregon law requires that aftermarket parts be certified equivalent to factory parts by an independent testing facility so do ask for proof. See link.

For safety and warranty purposes, we recommend OEM replacement parts because that was how your car was originally built.

You can find your car's position statements directly from the individual automaker website or see link from OEM 1 Stop Shop.

What is our estimating process?
If you are going through insurance, you can go to their designated location to get an estimate, but be sure to specify that you only want a visual estimate and not a tear down because you will take the estimate to the shop you choose to get the repairs.

If you plan to pay out of pocket, we do charge an estimate fee of $140. However, that fee will go towards your repairs if you decide to choose us as your shop.
The other shop estimate was cheaper, do we price match?
That's great to hear but sometimes too good to be true deals can be deceiving. You should ask these questions before you seal the deal:
-
Did they provide a visual, partial, or a full estimate including tear down (did they inspect for internal damages, suspension, or frame damages)?
-
Are they repairing or replacing the parts?
-
Are they using aftermarket or OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts?
-
How is their quality and reputation?
-
Do they 100% guarantee their workmanship?
-
What is their review like on Yelp, Google, Nextdoor, or BBB?
-
If a shop does a cheap repair it can void your car's warranty, performance, and safety - is it worth it to get it done right the first time?

Remember if you are not satisfied with the initial repairs. You are likely responsible to pay out of pocket for redo's. We have seen so many choppy repairs and have done a dime a dozen - trust your instincts.

What if insurance does not approve the estimate?
You have the Right to Appraisal.

Per Society of Collision Repair Specialists. Dispute resolution mechanisms exist within many auto insurance policies to protect consumers in instances where the insurance company and repair facility may not see eye to eye on the necessary steps or costs to repair the damaged vehicle. In this video, Michael and Domenic break down the process of invoking the policyholder’s appraisal clause and how engaging independent appraisers and an unpire can help to resolve potential disagreements about repair costs or vehicle values. It’s always a good idea to talk to your repair facility about their experiences with these options, and any guidance they can provide on effective ways to resolve your specific challenge.
